Just call her Lipstick Teeth!

Did anyone else notice how Paula Abdul had lipstick all over her teeth?! Ahhh! I was dying! I don't know why I thought it was so funny... but she's really is just a HOT MESS. I really wish I could find a picture of it on the web. That was some damn good entertainment!

Usually the "Year they were born" episode is one of my favorites of the Idol season. But, man this one was a snoozer. I don't think anyone really picked a GREAT song. It was totally predictable for Lil Rounds to pick Tina Turner, but the judges were a bit harsh to her. Matt was excellent with his version of Part Time Lover - its totally what he should be doing every week! Hopefully he'll be spared from the bottom three!

Scott is the new champ! According to Votefortheworst.com, I mean. I really hope he goes home! I can't deal anymore. It's entirely to uncomfortable to watch and all of his songs sound the same now.

Kris Allen is pure sexiness. He's marketable and the girls (obviously!) love him. Even with a mediocre performance last night, I'm sure he'll cruise right through to next week.

How many of you watched on Tivo and DVR and got screwed out of watching Adam's performance? Luckily I didn't. He can do no wrong in the eyes of the judges. It's undeniable that he's compelling. Every week... I watch just to see what he'll do next. I really think he could win this thing!

I'm a slacking blogger!

So sorry for the delay between posts! Here are a couple of my favorite Idol Related websites.

vote4idol votefortheworst

Vote for idol is a website that claims to take votes over the internet. I don't know how or if that is actually possible. But, I like to follow it and see where each of the contestants are in the leader board. I'm testing it out to see how accurate it could be.

Vote for the worst has been around for a few years. I first discovered it during the Sanjaya era. Haha. Basically it's a blog that solicits votes for the worst contestant! Now you would think that a die hard Idol fan like me would be annoyed by this. But, I actually find it amusing. This season for example Vote for the Worst had pegged Megan Joy as the worst. Quite clearly she stuck around a few weeks more than she should have... I was actually a little sad to see her go. It was funny to see what she'd come up with next. After last nights elimination I'm pretty sure she had known that she was on Vote for the Worst. I wonder if she was intentionally being kind of awful in hopes of getting more negative votes! Could have been scandalous if it worked!

I'm pretty sure most people would agree that there are a few very solid contestants right now. The others are just treading water until the unevitable end.

Kris Allen has upped his game week after week! I'm really excited to see what he comes up with next. I truly believe whatever the outcome of this years Idol he will make a record and I will buy it. ;)

Adam Lambert has also again and again impressed me (and the judges). He's always got something unexpected up his sleeve. Play that funky music!?!?! Really? And yet.. it was pretty good! Amazing.

Danny Gokey has been pretty strong although this week, I wasn't as impressed with him as I usually am. There is something really likeable about him nonetheless.

Allison Iraheta was in the bottom three last night. I think she's amazing. For her age she is very precocious. But, she's undeniably talented. I wonder if she might be one the judges decide to save?

I'm really loving this part of American Idol! Each week I get together with a few friends and watch. We chat during breaks about Paula's insanity and how sexy Kris is.

Each year. When the competition actually becomes a competition is when it really gets exciting!

Motown What What!

Obviously Lil Rounds will be expected to step it up big time tonight! But, what will she sing!? Matt Giruad should be able to impress quite easily in this format as well.

Rumor has it we'll see Jennifer Hudson and Rubben Studdard on the results show this week! I wonder when they'll bring back Clay Aiken. Will there be a s standards week? or a Music from Musicals week? Hmmm.

Idol Countryfied?

When I heard it was going to be Grand Ole Opry week I was very excited. I am a huge fan of country music.

My favorite from Opry week was Kris Allen. His rendition of "To make you feel my love" was beautiful and heartfelt. I was very impressed! Simon finally took notice of Kris too.

Was anyone else sort of disturbed by Adam Lambert's "Ring of Fire"? I love him. He's a shot of adrenaline in American Idol's arm. But, that was just bizarre and kind of creepy. Poor Randy Travis didn't even know what to say! Of course he was diplomatic and encouraging thou. haha . I am curious to see what Adam comes up with next week with Motown being the theme.

The elimintation of Alexis Grace was a bit of shocker! Wow. Didn't expect that!!! But, it's to early in the competition for the Judges to use their once only "save". Poor Alexis. It should have been Michael Sarver.

Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis performing "I told you so" on the elimination show was a highlight for me as well. It's a fantastic song. Carrie sings it so well... and Randy is truly and old time country legend.

Top 13!!

Tonight is the night! Hopefully it will get more exciting from here....

The Top 13 is as follows.

Jorge Nunez - his being voted into the top 12 was a bit of shocker.

Danny Gokey - with a heartbreaking story and strong backround in music (he's a music teacher) and his talent. He's a sure top 3 contender!

Adam Lambert - with his modern look and vocal style he's sure to go far. But, will photos surfacing on the internet hurt his chances?

Anoop Desai - Simon's surprise last second wild card pick. Interesting choice! Not sure what to say about him!

Kris Allen - his breakthrough performance of Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" made people take notice and vote! Can he keep impressing?

Megan Joy Corkrey - A wild card pick from the judges. She's beautiful, unique and quirky. But, can she REALLY sing... that remains to be seen.

Allison Iraheta - impressed everyone with her huge performance of Heart's "Alone" She's my favorite!
Michael Sarver - an oil rigging father seems like the underdog.

Scott MacIntyre - his story in incredible. He's almost completely blind but his passion for music is his driving force.

Alexis Grace - funky super cute, pint sized bluesy voice.

Matt Giraud - the southern dualing pianist.

Jasmine Murray - 17 and could make a pop record today.

Lil Rounds - the mother of 3 is a favorite to win.

Group 3

Sarcasm noted? Good. The last group of 12 left something to be desired. Scott MacIntyre, the almost completely blind guy, pulls at my heart strings. I watch him sing and I just want to cry. Yeah, it's a little awkward watching him. He seems kind of lost up there. I would be too! It was a given that he'd make it through to the top 12. It will be interesting to see how he does once he's got the piano again.

I really thought that Felica or Kristen should have made it through and when they didn't I hoped that at least one of them would return for Wild Card. The shocker for me was Jorge! His emotional "I think in Spanish" and tearing up after his performance probably helped him. (I know its superficial... but I find his eyebrows so distracting!)

Lil Rounds! Isn't she amazing?! She always looks great and he passion and drive is apparent. She always sounds good and I think she'll make it quite far!

Round 2 of 36

Yeah yeah. I know the title is confusing! It's meant to be. The new elimination process was at first quite confusing and even now I don't quite understand why they decided to do it this way. It's a big waste of our time to watch 12 performers and only get to see 3 continue.

Last nights episode. WOW. I was so disappointed with Matt the dualing piano guy. I had high hopes for him. He's got a Justin Timberlake look to him but a beautiful soulful voice. His song choice might have ended it for him.

The chic with the legs is another reason why this years process is silly. Never even heard or saw her before. She was god awful. Why is she even there... TO kill time? to draw out the process? So the show can make more money? Please. Don't waste my time like this. My patience is wearing thin.

I don't remember seeing Kris Allen in the auditions but I was pleasantly surprised with him. His song choice was interesting and somewhat bold (to pick a song that not many people know) and he was kind of adorable and sang it well. Is that enough to be one in three out of twelve? Probably not. Bummer.

Allison. Crazy red hair huge voice. I could see Kelly Clarkson in her. I hope she makes it. She'll keep this season interesting.

Adam Lambert. Yum. I like him and although I don't really dig the actual sound of his voice he's beautiful and got a very unique look and if he went the Punk Rock route I would buy his CD for sure. But, doing a Rolling Stones song the way he did. Risky and slightly awkward to me. BUT, there is no denying he is talented and good looking. If he doesn't make it through tonight. I think he'll come back as a wild card.

Mishovanna. What a name and she's talented but why pick a song like that? We are not quite far enough along in the competition to be picking such bold songs. I mean it should be bold but still make sense and that didn't make much sense. I have a feeling she will make it through, but i wouldn't have voted for her based on that song and performance.

Tomorrow. We'll discuss the elimination. Hmmm.
